O European Cybersecurity Month is celebrated for the tenth year, during the month of October, with numerous initiatives that will analyze the various aspects of cyber-security, which has become increasingly important in the business environment with the advancement of the hybrid work model.
The new study carried out by Dynabook ‘Guide to making hybrid work permanent‘ shows, however, that there is still a long way to go. The majority of European small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are still in the transition phase, with 64% having yet to fully optimize their IT solutions for hybrid work and 22% planning to reduce their IT budgets.
“New requirements have led SMEs to face more complex challenges than ever before in terms of reliability, security and productivity.“, says Carlos Cunha, Commercial Director of Dynabook Europe GmbH in Portugal. “One of the biggest obstacles to the transition to hybrid work has been the rapid increase in cyberattacks. Insufficient network and device security was a predictable consequence of the desperate race to stay operational during the early periods of lockdown, when the only priority was getting business done.“.
The research also reveals the high value of mobile devices, particularly handheld devices, where 47% of respondents believe they can increase employee productivity and collaboration while ensuring security and reliability. 71% of SMB IT managers believe that laptop purchasing decisions are more important today than they were before the pandemic, which is not surprising given the increasingly central role of hardware within the hybrid work ecosystem. 89% of European SMEs consider a complete or partial upgrade of their devices necessary to be competitive in today’s hybrid world.
” Lightweight and robust, connectivity options, built-in security tools and the latest 12th Gen Intel® Core
processors are key features to enable employees to work in the best conditions, no matter where they are.“, concludes Carlos Cunha. “With reliable hardware within a network that prioritizes security and collaboration, SMB IT managers can provide their organization and employees with the tools they need to face today’s hybrid world.”
