According to the information published about the cybercriminal attack on the Uber logistics platform, the Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. leading provider of cybersecurity solutions at a global level, through its Country Manager in Portugal, Rui Duro comments on the most recent attacks on the North American army and the Israeli parliament, carried out by the Xaknet group.
The Xaknet group announced an attack carried out on the US Army – Human Resources Command. This group had also attacked the Israeli Parliament on 24 October. They find themselves in what appears to be a series of DDos attacks.
“The Xaknet group is a relatively new group, so not much is known about them yet. What we do know is that they are pro-Russian, and that they like to go up against targets that are pro-Ukrainian. This group usually attacks through DDoS. Currently, there are around 2000 accounts that follow the group on Telegram. The size and scope of its operations is currently unclear. Recently, they claimed to have sent a cyber attack to a website of the Israeli parliament. Now, the group claims to have carried out a DDoS’d attack on a website linked to the US Army”.
