Can you get rich with the Internet?

.

Among the many searches that many people do on search engines, it is common that they are related to the financial gains that the Internet can give. From the simplest and most accessible paths, the most profitable, those that give the fastest return and those that require less investment and/or knowledge.

There are a number of reasons that explain this type of research, especially on the part of the new generations, and there is nothing wrong with seeking the related answers.

But is it really possible? Is it available to anyone? Is easy?

It’s time for you to really know what’s realistic and what’s an illusion about it!

What is getting rich?

First of all, we need to think about the meaning associated with this question.

If we ask this question to a hundred people, it is very likely that we will receive answers that have some similarity, but that also contain important differences.

For some, getting rich is being able to buy some objects of desire that at the time or never were within their reach due to their purchasing power. For others, it’s living a life of luxury and ostentation. In the view of a good portion, it is simply not having to worry about the bank balance at the end of the month and being able to pay all expenses.

Even within each of these groups, there are variations in such a way that those who desire luxury and ostentation, there are those for whom this can be achieved with a national car of R$ 200,000.00 and for others, it needs to be an imported sports car of R$ 200,000.00. $2,000,000.00.

What we mean by that is that the concept of financial wealth is subjective and can vary enormously and, therefore, depending on the case, getting rich can be “easier” for some than for others.

Why are there so many “formulas” of wealth on the Internet?

This is not an easy question to answer, not because there is no answer, but because there are several…

The first indirect reason is because most human beings grow up with the idea that material wealth is a necessary goal and for some it is even synonymous with happiness.

It is in the first instance necessary to provide some degree of security and comfort in relation to the family’s future.

But it is also to be able to enjoy some of life’s pleasures, to convey the image of being successful and all that that implies, or even of being able to fulfill other more or less noble desires.

Knowing this, those who propose to reveal the “secret”, the “formula”, or the path to wealth through the Internet, are relying on a desire common to most people.

Nothing more than a Sales technique!

By supporting their discourse in the search for enrichment, they manage to seduce and sell their potential “clients”, with an old technique known as AIDA and which intends to awaken the following conditions:

  • (A)attention – for any commercial approach to be efficient, it is necessary that the potential customer dedicates attention to the seller;
  • (I)interest – the sales pitch must arouse interest, supporting the greatest possible number of aspects that this customer wants, needs and expects;
  • (D)desire – at the end of the presentation, the greater the customer’s desire, the closer he will be to the last and next stage;
  • (A)ction – everything culminates with the customer’s action, which is manifested by the act of buying, whatever is being offered.

Therefore, possible and accessible enrichment is a highly seductive and efficient argument.

Titles of content that are based on this concept, from the outset, get a large number of clicks.

If they are properly worked and convincing, they can make the visitor sign up for a course that promises to give all the details of the “secret revealed”, or register in exchange for downloading a rich material that teaches all the steps to success, or who knows, in addition to any of the previous actions, indicate a number of friends / acquaintances to whom you want to give the same chance.

Such mechanisms aim at engagement and conversion, or seen in another way, it is the second “A” of AIDA!

Why do people think the Internet is a millionaire factory?

But don’t beat yourself up for getting carried away by AIDA or any other gimmick that relies on something like that.

There are concrete reasons, and in great number, that explain the belief that the web produces millionaires in droves.

It’s easy for almost anyone to make a list of people who have become “rich” thanks to the World Wide Web.

Starting with the digital influencers who insist on showing the success they have achieved on social networks, on blogs or on their channels and even in more traditional media.

But the news of companies that emerged and grew enormously from a simple mobile app, or from a web service that was a disruptive innovation and that broke paradigms, or from a business that migrated from face-to-face to virtual and in a short time appreciated thousands of times and which were later bought for millions of dollars and made their creators millionaires, also help to reinforce the idea.

Examples abound, it is true, but what is not said is that the number of cases that go against the grain, far outweigh the victors.

With that in mind, you ask the following question…

Is it possible to get rich with the Internet?

Yes, indeed it is and there is no lack of concrete cases to support the statement.

Whether those who today live in a mansion full of imported cars in the garage, or those who went from earning two minimum wages to five digits, or even those who no longer have to simply do “gymnastics” at the end of the month and who consider themselves rich because of it.

Remember the initial question: “what is it to be rich?”.

And no, not absolutely everyone who tells you how they got there wants to sell you something, using AIDA or any other technique. Nor are all those who exaggerate or are part of the ill-intentioned – because there are many – and who take advantage of this ancestral human will to achieve material wealth.

Know that regardless of how rich you want to be, it’s not easy, it’s not fast and it’s not within everyone’s reach, much less are there secrets or infallible methods!

At this point, you may be thinking, “so what do I need to do?”

1. Beware of False Myths

We answered the first point in the post on “how to earn money on the Internet”, in which, in addition to briefly explaining the most common means of obtaining some income (but not getting rich!), we warn about myths that need to be debunked, with an emphasis on for the first and which is the central theme of this post:

  • Getting rich – not even 0.005% of the population achieves this condition;
  • Easy earnings – as in any activity, there is a dose of work, time and other investments;
  • Little work – in very exceptional cases, there may even be moments of less effort, but never of little dedication;
  • Amateurism – being an amateur or imagining that professional behavior is not necessary and that investing in improvement is unnecessary is another frequent misconception;
  • Democratic – or if you prefer, it is for “anyone” or “everyone is winning”. There are indeed many facilities that technology offers, but as you advance, certain skills, competencies and talents will be required depending on what you have chosen to do;
  • Knowledge – related to the previous two, it is difficult to imagine a business on the Internet that thrives to the point of earning a lot of money, without the person in charge having acquired a lot of knowledge about it;
  • Secrets – beware of titles like “secret revealed” and what “you were never told about…”. It’s more like clickbait than serious content about administration, planning, real techniques, applied knowledge and technologies, processes and everything that actually should involve a promising business on the Web;
  • Everything sells – in fact, anything is salable, which is not synonymous with selling a lot and earning a lot;
  • Social networks – everyone is on social networks and they will make a difference in your business. Even this can change very quickly and the “end of social networks” is a warning about this false belief;
  • Speed – as in almost everything, the cases that transformed bank accounts overnight are the immense exception and not the rule;
  • Informality – the Internet does allow a greater level of informality compared to many old and traditional activities, but this should not be misinterpreted as a lack of professionalism, commitment and adequacy to legislation and market requirements.

2. Have goals

Goals are important for a few reasons:

  • Personal and professional goals – it is difficult to dissociate personal goals from professional ones, as in many cases the latter are necessary to make the first ones viable. Besides, some drive others;
  • Point of arrival – goal is also a point of arrival. It is often said that for those who don’t know where they want to go, any path will do and that in practice means that there must be a roadmap of things / actions to get there. Put another way, it’s planning;
  • Monitoring – goals are also important to know how close or far from the target we are and what still needs to be done to reach it;
  • Improvements – especially when they are not achieved, produce many questions, which in turn stimulate the search for new methods, new knowledge, more organization, among other improvements aimed at achieving them.

Bear in mind that a goal is an end and that the means justify the end and not the other way around.

3. Feet on the ground

Have a critical sense and know how to discern different situations.

Content that goes viral and for that reason boosted someone to celebrity status is usually not enough.

Staying at the top is just as, if not more, difficult than reaching it. Cases that prove this exist not only on the Internet, but in many areas, after all, how many musicians are not known for being artists of a single song and who, after a resounding success, have sunk into oblivion.

It means that you need to be aware of certain aspects:

  • Excitement – Occasional results do not imply success. You have to repeat them consistently;
  • Demand – those who raised you to the current condition will expect at least what you have already delivered or even more;
  • Preparation – do not give in to complacency or inertia. You have to be prepared and that means investing in planning, knowledge, technology and everything else associated with the chosen business.

4. Always originality

You have to be original, and not just in content, but in anything you decide to do.

Otherwise, you will always be compared with those who pioneered. Not that the pioneer is not also a pioneer in relation to those who copy him, but he will at least be the standard or the reference.

Discover your differentials, your talents and invest in them, as they can be the basis for building your identity, your image and what makes you stand out from the rest.

Don’t copy others, instead give reasons to be copied.

5. The customer is boss

It doesn’t matter if it’s a blog, if it’s a YouTube channel or if it’s the most used social networks, your audience is your customer.

Without it, a site with the most incredible content and the most modern resources, or the most innovative and sensational ideas, is useless. Who says if it’s all that, it’s the customer / visitor.

It is true that it is a consumption relationship different from the traditional ones, but it is still thanks to him that you manage to pay the bills and for that reason, the focus of everything you do must be on him and on the search for his satisfaction.

You’ll need a lot of them if you want to get…

Don’t forget that the Internet also created the idea that everything is – or should be – free. Few people and in very few situations are willing to pay for something, as long as it is not a conventional purchase, only digitally.

Also, don’t do anything that jeopardizes privacy, security and transparency. Ethics above all and in everything that is done.

With these fundamentals in mind, do your best to know your audience and deliver as much as they expect, because there are certainly a lot of people who are crazy about the same opportunity and it’s just a click away from you!

Conclusion

People don’t just want to win, but to earn a lot of money on the Internet. To get rich with it requires much more than following successful “formulas”.
